Background Information
The applicant seeks a special
exception provided in the use table
to allow for the construction of a
parking facility adjacent to their
existing youth facility. The applicant
has submitted a site plan, project
narrative and a parcel map providing
illustrations and conceptual designs
of their proposed facility. The
applicant has already obtained a
special exception for multiple
properties along Amherst Street but a
recent plat and inclusion in their lot
configuration warrant renewing their
special exception to include the
newly acquired piece. This request
would authorize the newly acquired
lot to be utilized in a manner
consistent with the adjacent

Background Information
The applicant seeks a variance to
allow for the renovations of one
dwelling unit to occur while the
applicant resides in the other
dwelling unit. The applicant
proposes that the requested variance
be temporary and expires upon
completion of the renovation or upon
expiration of a period established by
the ZBA. The applicant intends to
combine two neighboring properties
into one building site. This is
common within the jurisdiction,but
the applicant intends to reside in one
dwelling while the other dwelling is
being renovated. The proposed

configuration would temporarily
exceed the limitation f one dwelling
unit per building site established by
Section 2-101 and Table 7A-4b of
the Zoning Ordinance and therefore
requires a variance. The applicant
proposes to occupy one existing
dwelling while renovations are
completed on the second dwelling.
Upon completion,the occupied
dwelling is proposed to be
demolished,resulting in a single
dwelling unit on the building site in
full compliance with the Zoning
Ordinance. The applicant requests
that the variance remain effective
only for a period established by the
ZBA to facilitate this transition.
