ORDINANCE NO. 1M
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR
1940 FOR AND WITHIN THE CITY OF WEST UNI-
VERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, AGAINST ALL TAXABLE
PROPERTY `;iITHIN SAID CITY FOR ALL MUNICI-
PAL PURPOSES AND PROVIDI£fG T-LAT THIS
ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF COMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
JEST UNIVERSITY PLACE:
That there be and there is hereby levied against all
taxable property within the corporate limits of the Uity of Nest
University Place, Texas, as the same existed on Januaryllst,1940,
an ad valorem-tax of and at the rate of $1.50 on each ;100.00 .
valuation of property against the property,in said City for the
purpose of raising revenue for all municipal in said City for the
year 1940 as provided by the laws of this State.
Said tax is hereby segrzgated-and levied more in detail
as follows:
(1). Zor the purppose of paying interest and providing a sinking
fund for the $808,877.78 refunding bonds dated on or about
April 10th, 1936, on each $100.00 valuation of taxable property.

(2). For the purpose of aying interest and providing a sinking `
fund for the payment of i86P000.00 refunding warrants . dated on
or about April 10th, 1936, on each $100.00 valuation of taxable
property.

(3). For the purpose of aying interest and providing a sinking
fund for the payment of 10,000.00 sewer repair warrants dated
on or about July 7th 1939 on each $100.00 valuation of taxable
property.

(4). For the purpose of providing funds for current ampanses
of the City, on each $100.00 valuation of taxable property.

Aggregating $1,1-50 on each $100.00 valuation on all taxable
property of said City. i
SECTION 3.
There being no rule of the Board of Oommissioners regarding
ordinances to be read or passed at more than one meeting, it is
further ordered and ordained that this ordinance take effect and
be in force immediately from and after its passage and approval.
