ORDINANCE NO. 171
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. lll,
OF THE CITY OY 'NEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS,
COMMONLY KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS THE "ZONING
ORDINANCE ", BY AMENDING SECTION 4 THEREOF BY
ADDING A NEW SUB- PARAGRAPH, TO BE KNOWN AS
N0. 6, PERMITTING THE ELECTION AND CONSTRUC-
TION OF A CHURCH IN A SPECIFIED PART IN THE
FIRST SINGLE - FAMILY U3EILING DISTRICT AND
PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EF-
FECT AND BE IN FORCE IMMEDIATELY FROM AND
AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, by resolution of the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Vilest University Place, Texas, adopted at a reg-
ular meeting of said-Board February 19th, 1940,.it was deter-
mined, upon recommendation of the Planning Commission of the
City, to hold a public hearing with reference to amending.
Ordinance No. 111, commonly known and designated as the."Zoning
Ordinance", and
WHEREAS, notice of such.hearing was duly published
as required by law, and said Ordinance No. 111, and the date and
hour specified therein was YLa.rch 11, 1940 at 7:30 o1clock P. M.,
at the City Hall within the City of West University Place, Texas,
and
WHEREAS, said hearing was duly and seasonably held
on the date specified and the subject matter of this amendment
discussed at length.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CO16MISSION-
ERS OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 111 be amend ?d by the
insertion therein of a new sub - paragraph to be known as "i6)"
which reads as follows:
"Church, on Lot 1 and the East 2 of Lot 2, in Block
41, West University Place, First Addition, in the First Single -
Family Dwelling District."
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith, in so far as they conflict, are herewith repealed.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
immediately from and after its passage and approval.
