ORDINANCE NO. 170 _
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EX-
ECUTE AN ADDENDA TO THE EXISTING CON'T'RACT AND
LEASE BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY AND SAFETY
SIGNAL CORPORATION PERMITTING THE INSTALLATION
OF NOT MORE THAN THIRTY ETON- ELECTRIC SAFETY
SIGNALS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby
authorized to add an addenda to the contract and lease.here-
tofore entered into by and between the City of West University
Place and Safety Signal Corporation of date 7th day Dec-
ember , 1939, governing the installation of safety Signals
upon the streets and sidewalks of the City in terms and con-
ditions as follows:
"From and after the 1&-h_ day of March , 1940,
Safety Signal Corporation shall have the right and privilege
of installing not more than thirty non - electric Safety Signals
under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of said —
contract and lease except the terms and conditions thereof
as to electric current and attachments and parts incident to
the use of electricity and the effect produced thereby, all
other terms and conditions shall remain in full force and effect."
Said addenda shall be attached to and made a. part of
said contract and lease.
- SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. There exists a public emergency requir-
ing that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction, and the Mayor having in writing declared the
existence of such emergency and requested such passage, this
ordinance shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction,
this 18th day of March , A. D. 1940, and shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval by the. Mayor.

BY AND UNDER the authority of an ordinance duly and
leg4lly passed by the City Council of the City of West Univer-
sity Place on 18th day of March , 1940, the following
addenda is adde to the contract of date 7th day of Dec-
ember , 1939, by and between the City and Safety Signal
Corporation as follows:
"From and after the 18th day of March , 1940,
Safety Signal Corporation shall have the right and privilege
of installing not more than thirty non - electric Safety
Signals under and in accordance with the terms and condi-
tions of said contract and lease except the terms and condi-
tions thereof as to electric current and attachments and
parts incident to the use of electricity and the - effect pro-
duced thereby, all other terms and conditions shall remain in
full force and effect."
