AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PARKER
BROTHERS AND COMBANY. INC., AS THE LOWEST
SECURE BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PAVING
OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD FROM THE EAST LINE
OF COLLEGE VIEW FIRST ADDITION TO THE WEST
LINE OF THE INTERSECTION OF COMMUNITY
DRIVE AND UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD, IN THE CITY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; AWARDING CON-
TRACT TO PARKER BROTriliRS AND COMPANY~ ~Nr._
UPON ITS BID; AP PROVING CDNTRACT AND CONS-
TRUCTION BOND PREPARED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY
AND EXECUTED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE DOING
OF SAI D WORK; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE TO EXECUTE SAID
CONTRACT, FO R AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, ,AND DJroLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has received
in due form of law the bid of ~a~ker ~rot~A~ Rnn ~~~~~~~~Inc~,
for the paving of University Boulevard from the East Line of
College View First Addition to the West Line of the Inter-
section of Community Drive and University Boulevard, in the
City of WeRt University Place, Texas, for the sum of SEVEN
THOUSAND N;J:NET.l AND 74/100 ($7,090.74) Dollars, which-:-----
said bid was the lowest secure bid for the doing of said work,
and said Parker Brothers and Company. Inc. is entitled to
have said work above mentioned awarded to it; and,
WHEREAS, Parker Brothers and Company, Inc. , has
executed a contract and construction bond in the sum and manner
as required and has presented same to the Board of Commissioners
for approval and execution by the City; and,

WHEREAS, appropriation has heretofore been made to
cover the cost of the above mentioned work; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE:
Section 1: That the Board of Commissioners has
accepted and does hereby accept the bid of Parker Brothers
and Company. Inc.. for construction of the paving of Univer-
sity Boulevard from the East Line of College View First Ad-
dition to the West Line of the Intersection of Community
Drive and University Boulevard, in the City of West University
Place, Texas, for the sum of SEVEN THOTTfiAND NTT\T'RrrY AND 114/100
($7.090.74) Dollars, and the contract for the above mentioned
work is hereby awarded to PRrke~ RrotnA~R ~nn r.nmr~ny. Tn~. .

Section 2: The said Park~r Brothers and Comnanl.
Inc. having already executed and submitted to the Board or
Commissioners for their approval, contract and construction
bond, said contract and bond are hereby approved and accepted
as such, and in rull compliance or all requirements of law and
of the specifications and bid for the construction or the
paving above mentioned, and the sureties on said bond be, and
the same are hereby approved and accepted, and the Mayor or the
City of West University Place be, and he is hereby authorized
to execute said contract, for and on behalf or the City of West
University Place.
Section 3: The fact that the above street between
the intersections mentioned is badly in need of improvements
and same should be constructed at once, creates a public
emergency requiring that this ordinance shall take effect and
be in force immediately from, and after the date of its passage
and approval.
