HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1530 - Village News 'I I I I ORDINANCE NO. 1 SiO AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING NEWS PUBLICATIONS (VILLAGE NEWS) AS THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES AND OFFICIAL NOTICES REQUIRED TO BE PUBLISHED SHALL BE PUBLISHED IN SAID PAPER, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 1 I PI BE IT ORl)AINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST I UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: ' Section 1. News Publications (Village News), a paper having general circmation in the City of West University Place, Texas, and meeting all the requirements of an official newspaper as outlined in Chapter 2051 of the Texas Government Code, is hereby designated and declared to be the official newspaper and publication of said City. Section 2. All ordinances and official notices required to be published in the official newspaper shall be published in News Publications (Village News). Section 3. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, section or other part of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall ever be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of this ordinance and the application of such word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, section or other part' of this ordinance to any other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby. Section 4. All ordinances a.ldparts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict onlr:;.' " Section 5. The City Council 'qffi~ially' finds, determines and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of each meeting at which this ordinance was discussed, considered or acted- upon was given in the manner required ,by the Texas Open Meetings Act, as amended, and that each such meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during such discussion, consideration and action. The City Council ratifies, approves and confirms such notices and the contents and posting thereof. 'Section 6.
