HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 979 - Amending Section 1(s) & Section 3(b) of ORD 959 Regulating & Discharing of Industrial Wastes ~ () ORDINANCE NUMBER 979 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 (s) AND SECTION 3 (b) OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 959 REGULATING THE DISCHARGE OF INDUSTRIAL WASTES INTO THE PUBLIC SEWERS OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; PROMULGATING REGULATIONS AND ESTABLISHING CHARGES FOR SERVICES RENDERED, ADOPTED ON JUNE 14, 1971; BY CHANGING THE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT IN SECTION 1 (s); AND CHANGING THE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT AND REDUCING THE MINIMUM REQUIRED IN CERTAIN SUB-SECTIONS OF SECTION 3 (b). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: Section 1. That Section 1 (s) of Ordinance Number 959 is hereby amended so that hereafter said Section 1 (s) shall read as follows: llSection 1 (s) Unpolluted Water or Waste shall mean water or waste containing none of the following: free or emulsi- fied grease or oil; acids or alkal is, phenols or other sub- stances imparting taste and odor in receiving water, toxic or poisonous substances in suspension; colloidal state or solution and noxious or otherwise obnoxious odorous gases. It shall contain not more than ten parts per million each of suspended solids and B.O.D. The color shall not exceed fifty units as compared to the platinum (as K2 pt C12) stan- dard .11 Section 2. That Sub-Sections lO, II and l7 of Section 3 (b) are hereby amended so that hereafter said Sub-Sections shall read as follows: 'lSub-Section (10) Any hexavalent chrominum greater than 0.5 ppm.ll 'lSub-Section (11) Any trivalent chromium greater than 5.0 ppm.ll 'lSub-Section (17) Any iron chromium greater than 0.3 ppm.ll Section 3. Said Ordinance Number 959, except as expressly hereinablve amended shall continue in full force and effect. PASSED AND APPROVED this 24th day of April, 1972.
