ORDINANCE NUMBER 962
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF THE UNUSED PORTION OF
VACATION AND ACCUMULATED SICK LEAVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OF THE CITY OF WEST UNI-
VERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF SUCH
FUNDS AND PAYMENT TO ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission to treat all of its
employees equally and uniformly; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to appropriate an estimated sum
of money to be used for the purpose of paying all el igible permanent employees
for the unused portion of each of these permanent employees I accumulated ninety
(90) days sick leave and applicable vacation time according to their tenure of
employment and in accordance with personnel policies and procedures approved by
the City Commission, March 28, 1966.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section l. That there is hereby appropriated for the last six (6)
months of the budget year 1971 the sum of $7,000.00, to be used exclusively for
payment to the eligible permanent employees of the City of West University Place
for the unused portion of accumulated vacation and sick leave.
Section 2. That $2,400.00 from the General Fund, $3,000.00 from the
Water-Sewer Fund; and $l,600.00 from the Health Fund, making a total of
$7,000.00, be and it is hereby, appropriated for such purposes, and that the
City Treasurer is directed to establ ish a separate fund and account from which
to pay these heretofore mentioned obl igations, and that such funds be invested
to earn interest at prevailing rates.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force immed-
itately from and after its passage and approval as required by law.
