ORDINANCE NUMBER 883
AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT EACH AND
ALL OF THE PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN HAD AND ALL THINGS
DONE PREQUISITE TO THE HOLDING OF A PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER THE AMENDING OF ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 111
OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, SO AS TO
PERMIT THE WEST UNIVERSITY BAPTIST CHURCH TO USE LOTS
11, 13, 14 and 15, BLOCK 15, COLLEGEVIEW THIRD ADDITION
AND LOT 6, BLOCK 19, COLLEGEVIEW FIRST ADDITION FOR
CHURCH PURPOSES; FINDING THAT A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING AN AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE
NO. 111 HAS BEEN DULY AND LEGALLY HELD; APPROVING AND
ADOPTING THE REPORTED RECOMMENDATION OF THE ZONING AND
PLANNING BOARD THAT ORDINANCE NO. 111 BE AMENDED TO
PERMIT SAID LOTS TO BE USED FOR CHURCH PURPOSES: FIND-
ING THAT ORDINANCE NO. 111 OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE SHOULD BE AMENDED SO AS TO PERMIT SUCH USE; AMEND-
ING ORDINANCE NO. 111 PERMITTING SUCH USE; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the West University Baptist Church has heretofore duly and
properly requested permission to use Lots 11, 13, 14 and 15, Collegeview Third
Addition and Lot 6, Block 19, Collegeview First Addition for the purpose of con-
structing church buildings thereon and/or to use such property in connection with
the operation of said church; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning and Planning Board of the City of West University
Place, having considered the said request of the West University Baptist Church,
has submitted its recommendation that the same should be granted subject to a
public hearing before the City Commission of said City; and
WHEREAS, proper notice of such hearing was given by publication in
the Houston Chronicle and that notice was mailed to each of the owners of pro-
perty within 200 feet of the aforesaid lots; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such notice a public hearing was held by the City
Commission at the City Hall, 3800 University Boulevard at 7:30 o'clock P.M.,
Monday, December 19, 1966; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that the application
of the West University Baptist Church should be granted:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of West University
Place hereby finds and determines that all formalities required by Ordinance
No. 111 of said City relative to the request of the West University Baptist
Church for an amendment to the said Ordinance to permit the use of Lots 11, 13,
14 and 15, Block 15, Collegeview Third Addition and Lot 6, Block 19, Collegeview
First Addition for church purposes, have been duly complied with and met.

Section 2. That the report and recommendation of the Zoning and
Planning Board relative to the application of the West University Baptist
Church, be, and it is hereby, approved and adopted.
Section 3. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 111 of the City of West
University Place, Texas is hereby amended by the addition of a sub-paragraph
to be known as subparagraph No. 18 to read as follows:
18) Lots 11, 13, 14 and 15, Block 15, Collegeview Third Addition
and Lot 6, Block 19, Collegeview First Addition, may hereafter be
used by West University Baptist Church for the construction of church
buildings thereon and other uses incidental to the operation of
said church, provided however, that such use shall in all other
things comply with the existing ordinances and Building Code of
the City of West University Place, Texas."
Section 4. This Ordinance will take effect and be in force immediately
from and after its passage and approval.
