v~REAS, there is in existence at this time a financial
depression 'which has caused unemployment and f'inancial distress, and stringency,
which, in turn, has made it impossible, in many instances, for p:ersons
to pay their taxes, thereby endangering the loss of' their property a~"1d in many
instances their homes, and

WBEREAS, this financdal burden will be relieved, to some extent
at least, by the cancellation and remission of penalties and interest due on
delinquent taxes due to City of West Univerai:.ty Place, Texa_s, and encourage
and make possible the payment of said taxes, and
;^H'8REAS, it is the policy' of the City of West University Place,
Texas, to lighten the burden of taxation as much as possible and encourage'
the payment of municipal taxes, due said City:

Section Iii
All penalties and interest 011 delinquent municipal taxes due
City of West University Place, Texas, are hereby cancelled and remitted;,
prmrided'the full amount of taxes due, together with accrued' oosts are paid

1st of each year, shall become due and payable.
Section 2.
All payments of delinquent taxes' shall be made to the
Delinquent Tax Attorney who, upon payment of the full 8Jllount of taxes due
together with accrued costs, is directed' and instructed to issne a delinquent
tax receipt showing; payment thereof-'.
Section 3.
There being no by-law, ordinance or law relating to the time
of the taking effect of ordinances, this ordinance, therefore, shall take
effect and be in force immediately after passage and approval by' the $oard
