AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING AND LEVYING A CHARGE FOR
EACH CONNECTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN OR
WITHOUT THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, WITH THE SANITARY SEWERS
OF SAID CITY; ,PROVIDING-FOR THE COLLECTION OF
SUCH CHARGE; PROVIDING THAT ALL MONEY SO COLLECT.
ED FROM SUCH CHARGE SHALL CONSTITUTE A PART OF
THE REVENUES OF THE SANITARY SEWER SYS'lIEl\1[ OF THE
CITY; PROVIDING FOR DISCONNECTIONS UPON FAILURE
OR REFUSAL TO PAY SUCH CHARGE; PROVIDn~G FOR RE-
CONNECTIONS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR ANY RECON-
NECTION TO SUCH SErVERS, EXCEPT BY PROPER AGENT OF
THE CITY; PROVIDING THAT ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH ARE REPEALED;
PROVIDING IF ANY SECTION OR PART OF THIS ORDINANCE
BE DECLARED UNCONSITUTIONAL OR INVALID, IT SHALL
NOT AFFECT OTHER PARTS THEREOF; PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FORCE

Sec tion 1.

CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
There is hereby assessed and levied a charge of 75~
per month for each and every connection of private prop-
erty with the sanitary sewers of the City of West Univer-
sity Place, Texas, whether or not located within the cor-
porate limits of the City. This said charge shall be paid
each month by the oVlller'or person in possession of any and
all such premises to the City Secretary of the City of West
University Place at the City Hall thereof, said charge to
be due and payable on the first day of each and every month.
Section 2.

. If any such person or persons shall fail or refuse to

order such premises disconnected from the sanitary sewer
system of the City and same shall be disconnected immediate-
ly. When any such premises ~ave been SO disconnected, they
shall not be again reconnected with the sewer system of the
City, unless the owner or person in possession or other per-
son pay to the City Secretary of the City all past due sewer
charges, and an additional sum of $7.00 as a reconnection
charge.
Sec tion 3.

All money collected under the provisions of this Ordi-
nance shall constitute part of the revenues of the sewer ~ys-
tern of the City and it shall be deposited in an appropriate
account to the credit of said sewer system.
Sec tion 4.
If the private property of any person or persons shall
have been disconnected from the sanitary sewers of the City,

it shall be unlawful for any person, other than a dulYdauth-
orized agent of the City, to reconnect or attempt to re-
connect such property to the sanitary sewers of ,the City and
upon conviction any such person or persons shall be fined in
the Corporation Court of the City of West Vniversity Place,
in any sum not to exceed $100.00. Each separate violation
of this section of the Ordinance shall constitute a separ-
ate offense, punishable as herein provided.

Section 5.

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
with this urdinance are hereby repealed.
Section 6.
The term Itpersonfl as used in this Ordinance shall
be held to mean any person, partnership, corporation or
organization whatsoever.
Section 7.
If any section, paragraph, sUbdivision, clause;
phrase or provision of this Ordinance shall be adjudged in-
valid or held unconstitutional, the same shall not affect
the validity of this Ordinance as a whole or'any part or
provisions thereof other than the part so decided to be in-
valid or unconstitutional.

This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on
and after December 1, 1937.
