HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 117 - regulating number of cows or horses kept in West U. 123 '0 ORDINANCE NO. 1/7 I _ AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE NUMBER OF COWS OR HORSES THAT CAN BE KEPT AND MAINTAIJ!ED2:0N ANY PREMISES WI rm:IN .THE CORPORATE LIMITSOF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE; PROVIDING f'or PROP:ffi SANITARY CONDITIONS OF SAID PROP:HRTY; PROVID ING FOR THE STAKING OUT OF ANY SUOH ANIMAL; PROHIBITING SUCH ANIMALS BEING ALLONED T.0 STRAY FROM SUCH PREMISES; PROVIDlliG WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT; PROVIDING A PENAI.JrY; AND, PROVID:lliG THAT AIL PRIOR ORDI- NANCES OR PARTS TEEREOF ~ IN CCNFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE, .ARE REPEALED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITy.oF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE: SECTION 1 . ... It shall be unlawful for any person in possession of' [[ any property or premises located wi thin the corporate limits of' the City of West University Place to keep thereon, or permit to be kept thereon, more than two hor ses or two cows or one horse and one cow; it being the intention of' this ordinance that any such person can keep, or permit to be kept, on such premises either two horses or two cows or one horse and one cow, as ma~ be desired, but not .mor e. SECTION 2 . ., It shall be unlawf'ul to s take any such anima~ or animals within less than lOO feet of any residence or other building Wi thin said City. . SECTION 3 Ll It shall be unlawful to permit any such animal or animals tos tray from the property or premises maintained by the ewner or persons in pessession of such animals, Unless. By the term "staked out" is meant where such animal is securely tied with a rope, chain or something of like character~ one end of which shall be se- curely fastened to sane atationary object. SECTION 4. u The premises where such animals are kept shall be well drained at all times; and, such premises shall be kept clean and free from any accumulation of manure, trash, rubbish or any filthy or :roui smelling matter. SECTION 5 SECTION 6 Any person or corperation who' shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance, or :rail to comply therewith, or with any of the requirements thereof, shall be guilty of misdemeanor and shall be liable to a fine of not more than $lOO.OO and every day such violation Shall be permitted to exist shall calstiuute a separate offense. The OWner, or one in possession of any such premises, or part thereof, where anything in viola tion of this ordinance shall exist, and ~ne agent, person or corporation employedJln. connection th erewith and who may have assisted in the ccmmission of any such violation shall be guilty of a separate offense, and. upon ] .~'. SECTION '7 All Ordinances, or parts ofOrdinanc es, in con- iUictwith this ordinance are hereby repealed.
