AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CANCELLATION AND
RENIISSION OF PENALTIES AND INTEREST ON A LL DEL-
INQUENT TAXES DUE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY P11ACE#
TEXAS, PROVIDED SlaD TAXES TOGmHER WITH COSTS
ARE PAID ON CR BEFORE FEBRUARY 3, 1936; PROVIDmG
THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL F CR CE IMMEDIATELY AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND AP-
PROVAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
All penalties and interest on delinquent municipal
ad valorem taxes due City of West University Place, Texas# are
hereby cancelled and remitted# provided the full amount of taxes
due, together with the accrued costs are paid on or prior to
February 3rd, 1936. If, however, same are not so paid wi thin
the time specified herein, then legal penalties, together with
6~ interest from and after the respective dates said taxes are
due, to-wit: February 1st, of each year', shall become due and pay-
able/
SECTION 2.
All payments of delinquent taxes shall be made - to the
Tax Collector who, upon payment of the full amount of taxes due to-
gether With accrued costs, is directed and instructed to is~e a
delinquent tax receipt shoWing payment thereof.
SECTION 3.
This remission of penalties and interests shall in no
manner prevent, or be construed to prevent, the filing of suit for
the collection of any delinquent taxes due said City, whether ad
valorem or other character of taxes.
SECTION 4.
There being no by-law, or ordinance or law relating
to thet:tme of the taking effect of ordinances, this ordinance, .
therefore, shall take effect and be in farce immediately after pas-
sage and app:rovalby the Board of Commi ssioners of the City of West
University Place, Texas.
Passed and approved this the ~day of December 1955.
