AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TIME FOR THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1934; PROVIDING THAT TEE -.SAME TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY UPON PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE:: 9 Section I. That the Board of Equalization for the year 1934 of said City of West University Place shall meet at the Oi ty Hall in said Oi ty on Augus t 15, 1934 at / 0 0' clock A.M., and from day to day thereafter as shall be deter- mined upon by said Board, to receive all assessment lists and books of the Assessor of said City of West University Place, for examination, correction, equalization, appraise- - - u ment and approval, and for the purpose of doing any and c _ . - all other things required of it by ordinances of the City of West University Place, Texas, and the laws of the state of Texas relating thereto. COMPENSATION TO BE PAlD THE CITY ATTORNEY OR '1'HE ATTORNEY REPRESENTING THE STATE IN CRIMINAL ACTIONS IN THE CORP- ORATION COURT IN THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE; REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;; AND BR01l:IDLNGTHAT SAME TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE IMMEDIATELY UPON PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE'BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: SECTION I. FEES AND COMPENSATION OF CITY ATTORNEY OR PERSON REPRESENTING' THE STATE. The City Attorney or Attorney representing the State in any criminal action in the Corporation Court in the City o~ West University Place, Texas, shall not be en- titled to any ~ee o~ any kind or character upon a plea o~ guilty being made by any de~endant or ~or and in behal~ o~ any de- ~endant, but shall receive in lieu thereof a monthly salary [J of Twenty DollarB ($20.00) to be paid by said City. Upon a plea o~ "not guilty said attorney shall be entitled to a ~ee of Five Dollars ($5.00) for each case where there is a con- viction;: provided that if after having made a plea of not guilty the defendant subsequently changes said plea to guilty, then said attorney shall be entitled to a fee of Five Dollars ($5.00) for each su~h case where there is a con- viction. The fees herein provided shall be paid by the City of West University Place to said attorney and shal~ be tax~d as part of the costs in each such case. o Section II.
