AN ORDINANCE-PRESCRIBING THE FARETO BE CHARGED BY THE HOUSTON ELECTRIC COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS M~D ASSIGNS, ON MOTOR BUSSES OPERATED PURSUANT TO, FRANCHISE PASSED AND APPROVED THE 18TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1926; REl1EALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES~ AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. i-I I , i r:... ?~ 7~ ?~ ~t ~~ ~~ ~~ ?~ ?~ BE IT ORDAINED BY 1'HE CITY COU~ICIL OF THE CITY OF WEill UNIVERSITY PLACE: Section 1. The rate of fare to be charged by the Houston Electric~ Company, its successors and assigns, for transportation upon motor bus lines operated by it within the City of West Univer- sity Place, pursuant to franchise passed and approved the 18th: ,; day of October, 1926, shall be the sum of five cents (51) per- <' passenger one way between points wholly within-the city limits.' Section 2. That all prior ordinances covering the subject-matter 'I I ' I ~1 of this ordinance and ,all prior ordinances or any parts thereof that ~re in conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3. The ract that certain origj.nal city ordinances are last or misplaced andjorthere is conflict between ordinances and con- fusion concerning ordinances, creates an emergency and an.impera- tive public necessity, wherefore the second and third readings of this ordinance are hereby suspended and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publicatl<i:>>n as r'equired by law. ~ Passed and approved this ~--;;;;:; of Febr11ar-;'T, 1929.
