HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 83 Levying taxes for the year 1933 ORDINAN CENuMBER c?\~ J' ;"'1 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1933 FOR AND WITHIN THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACEJ TEXAS, AGAINST ALL TAX- ABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY FOR ALL MUNICI- PAL PURPOSES AND PROVIDING THAT SAID ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE: SECTION 1. That there be and there is hereby levied against all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of West University Place, Texas, as the same existed on the 1st day of January, 1933, and ad valorem tax of and at the rate of One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) on each One Hundred Dollars valuation of property in said City for the purpose of raising revenue for all municipal purposes, for the year 1933, as provided by the Laws of this state. Said tax is hereby segregated, and levied, more in detail, for the following purposes, to wit: (a) For the purpose of paying interest and pro- viding sj.nklng fUnd for the crhree Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollar ($350,000) Funding Bonds that are dated on or about March 1st, 1927, 35 cents ($0.35)'- on each;i.One Hundred Dollar valuation of taxable prop~rty. (b) For the purpose of paying interest and pro- viding sinking fmld for the payment of the Three Hundred and Twenty-Six Thousand Dollar ($326,0000 Funding Bonds that are dated on or about January 1st, 1929, Thirty-Three and Seven Tenths Cents ($0.33.7), on each one hundred dollar valuation of taxable property. (C) For the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and providing sinking fund for the payment ror the One Hundred and Forty Thousand, Eight Hundred and Seventy-Seven Dollars and Sev~nty- Eight Cents ($140,877.78), dated on or about Oct- ober lOth, 1931,. '1 II ";',';'11"1:11 V,f; , o (d) For the purpose oft providing for the pay- ment of interest and providing sinking fund tor the payment of Eighty-Six Thousand Dollars ot Warrants outstanding, and for retiring other Legal Indebtedness, Fourteen and Eight Tenths Cents ($0.14.8), on the one hundred dollar valuation of taxable property. Aggregating One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) on each One Hundred Dollar valuation on all taxable prop- erty of said City. There being no rule of this Commission requiring Ordinances to be read or passed at more than one meeting, it is further ordained that this Ordinance take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
