ORDINANCE NUMBER 1251
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE. NUMBER 1232
WHICH APPROVED THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXA~ FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY. 1,' 1985, AND ADOPTED
ON DECEMBER 3, 1984.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of West University Place,
Texas, has on certain datesand"occ;asions found it necessary,
worthwhile and expedient to expend funds of the city for the best
interest and welfare of its citizens for items which were not
cons i dered, nor i nc'l uded, in the ori gi na 1 budget; and
WHEREAS, it is the des.ire of the City Council to increase various
items of income and expenditure known to be in excess of the amount
provided for in the original budget, so that the amount of additional
expenditure may be offset by a like amount of additional income.
NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the budget of the City of West University Place
for the 12-month period beginning January 1, 1985, and ending December
31, 1985, as heretofore adopted be, and it is hereby, amended to
provided for additional expenditures and revenues, from the General
Fund as shown by the fo1low.ing schedule: , .

Section 2. ADDITIONAL INCOME. The City Council hereby determines
it advisable to revise and alter the items of the budget to increase
the total expenditure and also increase the total anticipated income so
that the total means of financing the budget shall equal in amount the
aggregate proposed expenditures.

Section 3. The additional income required for revisions of the
budget is hereby appropriated and approved by 'increasing the revenue
aycounts and available cash of the General Fund as shown bY the
following schedule:

Section 4. This'ordinance shall take effect and be in force ,
immediately from and after its passage and approval as required by law.

Section 5. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph,
section or other part of this ordinance or the application thereof to
any person or circumstance, shall ever be held to be' invalid or
unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder
of this ordinance and the application of such word, phrase, clause,
sentence, paragraph, secti on or other part of thi s ordinance to any
other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
Section 6. All, ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict only.
Section 7. The City Council officially finds, determines and
declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of each meeting at which this' ordinance was discussed,
considered or acted upon was given in the manner required by the Open
Meetings L~w, TEX. REV. CIV. STAT. ANN. art. 6252-17, as amended, and
that each such meeting has been open to the public as required by law
at all times during such discussion, consideration and action. The
City Council ratifies, approves and confirms such notices and the
contents and posting thereof.
PASSED AND APPROVED ON FIRST READING this 9th day of December,
1985.
