Section 18-68 is a currently reserved section within Chapter 18(Buildings and Development)and under Article II
(General Regulations).The intent of this code addition is to establish general rules and regulations for the
installation of generators.
Sec. 18-68. Generators.
For the purposes of this section,Generators will be considered mechanical equipment and as such shall be installed
in compliance with the following requirements:
(1) Location. All generators shall be installed in compliance with the minimum setback standards outlined
in:
a. Zoning Ordinance Article 7A. Residential District-Specific Regulations Table 7A-2:Yards(or
'setbacks').See also Table 7A-7 Projections Schedule and in for authorized projections into
required yard or setback areas.
b. Zoning Ordinance Article 7B. Non-Single-Family Residential District-Specific Regulations Table
7B-2:Yards(or'setbacks').See also Table 7B-7 Projects Schedule for authorized projections into
required yard or setback areas.
(2) Clearance All generators shall be installed with a minimum twelve (12)inches of clearance or per the
manufacturer's specified minimum clearances from a structure,whichever is greater.
al Building Codes. All equipment shall meet all other applicable requirements of the International Building
and Residential Codes adopted by the City.
