For the purposes of this section, and referenced Zoning Ordinance sections, Generators shall be considered
electrical equipment and referred to in tables and charts as " mechanical equipment" or as later amended
in the Zoning Ordinances.
(1) Location. All generators shall be installed in compliance with the minimum setback standards outlined in
the below Zoning Articles or as amended hereafter:
a. Zoning Ordinance Article 7A. Residential District-Specific Regulations Table 7A-2:Yards(or
`setbacks').See also Table 7A-7 Projections Schedule and in for authorized projections into
required yard or setback areas.
b. Zoning Ordinance Article 7B.Non-Single-Family Residential District-Specific Regulations Table 7B-
2:Yards(or`setbacks').See also Table 7B-7 Projects Schedule for authorized projections into
required yard or setback areas.
(2) Clearance All generators shall be installed per the manufacturer's specified minimum clearances from a
structure,for the specific model installed,with twelve(12)inches as a minimum required clearance.
(3) Building Codes.All mechanical equipment shall meet all other applicable requirements of the
International Building and Residential Codes adopted by the city.
