MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
ZONING & FLANNIATG BOARD
MAY 23, 1953
The Zoning and Planning Board met in special session on May 23, 1953, with
the following members present: Mr. Maley, presiding; Messrs. Hannah and
Halbert. Messrs. Taylor and Davis were absent.
The Board met to reconsider action taken on May 18, 1953, when a recommend-
ation was made that the City Council approve a request to subdivide. the
East 100 x 100 Ft. of Lot 5, Block 78, West University Place 2nd Addition,
into two 50 x 100 Ft. lots to front on Buffalo Speedway. An inspection was
made of the property and after due consideration it was .the Boards opinion
that to subdivide the lots would result in an over crowded condition after
improvements were made which is not in keeping with the principles of good
zoning and planning. After reconsidering this request the following action
was taken:
Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Halbert that action taken by the Board
on May 18, 1953, be rescinded and that the Board recommend to the Council that
the request to subdivide the East 100 x 100 Ft. of Lot 5, Block 78, West
University Place 2nd Addition be denied.
Voting Aye: All
Voting No None
Mr. Taylor and Mr. Davis, who were not present at this meeting advised that
in their opinion the Board's recommendation of May l8, should not be reversed
as it would not be a legal violation of the Zoning Ordinance to subdivide the
lot but if a special hearing is called and there is serious objection to sub-
. dividing the property, the City Council should deny the request.
With no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
