MINU'T'ES OF SPECIAL MEETING
ZOP~ ING & PLA~r4VING BOARD
AUGUST 2„ 1952
The Zoning and Planning Board convened in special session on Friday, August
29, 1952, with the fallowing members present: Messrs. Maley, Goff and Riggs.
Messrs. Morris and Moss were absent.
Mrs. J'. D. Cooper, Jr. of 3223 Rice Boule~rard requested permission to re-
construct the existing double garage into a 3 car garage and laundry room in
accordance with the sketch submitted. It was determined after examining the
property that the only violatic;n of the Zoning Ordinance would be that the
new building would set back 5 feet from the side street property line instead
of. the required 10 feet but this deviation would not seem to affect the ad-
.--? joining property.

bIotion by Mr. Goff, seconded by Mr. Riggs that the Board recommend to the City
`.,,; Council that the request of Mrs. J. D. Cooper, Jr, of 3223 Rice Blvd. for per-
,,:,.; mission to reconstruct the existing double garage into a 3 car garage and
laundr3r room in accoy~dance with the sketch submitted be approved subject to
execution of an affidavit that the proposed building will not be used for
coirmerc i al purposes .
Voting Aye: All
Voting No None
M~•s. W. M. Lawrence of 3220 Bellaire Bouleaard requested that the square foot
building requirements of the North 75 feet of Lot 3 and the W2 of Lot 2,
Block %+l, West University Place First Addition, be reduced from 1600 Square
Feet tc 1200. Square Feet. This lot was recently sub-divided pending dedi-
cation of necessary easerrients
Motion by Mr. Goff and seconded by Mr. Riggs that the square foot requirements
for the North 75 feet of Lot 3 and the North 75 feet of the W2 of Lot 2,
Block ~+1, West University Place First Addition be reduced from 1600 Square
Feet to 1200, Square Feet which will conform to the requirements of the other
property facing on Rutgers.
Voting Aye: All
Voting No None
With no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
