HomeMy WebLinkAbout08141952 ZPC Minutes MINUTES OF REGULAR MEEPING ZONING & PLANNING BOARD AUGUST 1~+, 1952 The Zoning Board convened in regular session at the City Ha11 on August 14, 1952, 730 P.M. with the following members present: Mr. Roy Maley, pre- siding; Messrs. Goff, Mass and Riggs. Mr. Morris was absent. Mrs. Jim P. Martin, 654+ Belmont, appeared before the Board requesting per- mission to erect a 23 x 27 Ft. structure on the rear of her lotto be used as guest quarters and recreation room in connection with her existing residence located on the same lot. The proposed building as shown on the plat submitted would consist of a bedroom, bath, recreation room and bar. After due consid- eration of the request it was the opinion of the Board that such structure would be additional living quarters which is a violation of Zoning Ordinance r~-: No. 111 and the following action was taken: `°~ Motion by Mr. Goff, seconded by Mr. Moss that the Board recommend that the ~-- request of Mrs. Jim P. Martin, 654+ Belmont, for permission to erect a 23 x 27 Ft. `~ structure on the rear of her lot to be used as guest quarters in connection. with her existing residence be denied as the structure proposed would be in violation of the Zoning Ordinance. Voting Aye: A11 Voting No None Mrs. Margaret D. Beaeh, owner of Lot 3, Block 2t~, West University Place lst Addition submitted a request to subdivide this property into two lots of 50 x150 Ft. each. Motion by Mr. Riggs, seconded b'y Mr. Moss that the Board recommend approval of the request. of Mrs. Margaret D. Beach to subdivide Lot 3, Blk. 28, West Uni- versity Place lst Addition into two lots of 50 x 150 Ft. each. Voting Aye: All Voting No None Mr. Cx. P. Tully, 6~0~+ Sewanee, requested permission to move a 10 x l~+ Ft. building onto his premises adjacent to the south side of an existing garage apartment which was constructed prior to 1936. Mr. Tully told the Board he desired to use this 10 x 14 Ft. building for storage purposes. Motion by Mr. Moss, seconded by Mr. Gaff that the request of Mr. G. P. Tully, 6~+0~+ Sewanee, for permission to move a 10 x 14 Ft. building onto his premises adjacent to the south side of an existing garage apartment be approved, subject to execution of the usual affidavit. Voting Aye: All Voting No None Mr. W. H. Krenzler, owner of property on Kirby Drive and Bissonnet Street re- quested permission to move a 12 x 18 Ft. frame office building from his prop- erty on Bissonnet Street west of and adjacent to the existing store building at 2625 Bissonnet. {~ Motion by Mr. Riggs, seconded by Mr. Moss that the Board recommend that Mr. W. H, Krenzler, be permitted to move a 12 x 18 Ft. frame office building from his property on Kirby Drive at Wroxton Road to a 30 Ft, strip of vacant prop- erty on Bissonnet Street west of the existing store building at 2625 Bissonnet such approval to be on a temporary basis for a maximum of two years. Voting Aye: A11 Voting No : None Dr. E. Allen Sherrill, Jr., 3103 University Boulevard, requested permission to erect a utility room at the side of an existing garage apartment which was constructed in 1935, for the purpose of storing a deep freeze unit and washing machine. Motion by Mr. Moss, seconded by Mr. Gcff, that Dr. E. Allen Sherrill, Jr., 3103 University Boulevard be permitted to erect a 6 x 16 Ft. utility room on the rear of his garage for storage purposes, subject to execution of the usual affidavit.
