MINUTES OF REGULAR METING BONING & PLANNING BOARD FEBRUARY 1l~, 1952 The Zoning and Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall on Thursday, February 1l~, 1952, 7:30 F.M. with the following members present: Mr. Roy Maley, presiding; Messrs. Goff and Riggs. A~essrs. Dorris and Moss were absen t. ?irs. Reid Hodgson, 6720 Rutgers, appeared before the Board requesting approval to erect a 12x18 Ft. one-story playroom for family use, in connection with an existing 18x20 Ft. double garage. Motion by Mr. Riggs, seconded by Mr. Goff that the request of Mrs. Reid Hodgson, 6720 Rutgers, for approval to erect a 12x18 Ft. playroom to be attached to an existing. double garage be recommended for approval subject to no plumbing facilities being installed and subject to execution of usual affidavit that the building will not be used for commercial purposes. Voting Aye: All Voting too iJone Mr. C. R. Middleton, X208 Riley Street, requested the Board to recommend approval of his placing an 8x12 Ft. prefabricated building on the back of his lot to be used for storage purposes. Mr. Middleton explained that his garage is attached to the house and not adequate for storage purposes. Motion by Mr. Riggs, seconded by ~~r. Goff, that the Board recommend approval of the request of iuir. C. R. Middleton for permission to place an $x12 Ft. prefabricated building on the back of his lot to be used for storage purposes, subject to no plumbing facilities being installed. and subject to execution of usual affidavit that the building will not be used for commercial purposes. Voting Aye : All Voting No : None Mr. L. B. Bricker, 322 Sunset, requested approval for erection of a screened and roofed enclosure 1~ x 16 Ft. which is presently a bricked terraced area adjacent to the east side of his existing garage. Mr. Bricker explained by letter that the space would be used as an outdoor living room or dining space during `the summer months. Motion by Mr. Goff, seconded by ~ti~r. Riggs that the request of Mr. Bricker for permission to erect a screened and roofed enclosure 1?ax16 Ft. be recommended for approval subject to execution of usual affidavit and no plumbing installation. Carl F: Modglin, owner of Lot 3, Block $$, Vest University Place 2nd Addition, appeared before the Board requesting permission to subdivide this lot into two lots to front on Albans goad. Rir. Modglin had no definite plans • for the lots and was undecided as to what size lots would be desirable, as the corner lot would require a 30 Ft. set back line on both Buffalo Speedway and Albans Road. The request was tabled until Mr. Modglin could confer with an architect to determine the most advantageous way to subdivide the lot to provide ample space for two building sites. P~",r. J. L. Terry, 5712 Simmons Street, requested permission to erect a child's playhouse in the back yard. Motion by Cdr. Riggs, seconded by Mr. Goff that the request of Mr. J. L. Terry for permission to erect a child's playhouse be recommended for ax~proval subject to signature of usual affidavit and no plumbing facilities. Voting Aye: ~~11 Voting No Intone Dr. R. V. Mayfield, ~4r. Vaughn, and Mr. V4'illiams, representatives from the ~~,'est University Baptist Church, requested approval from the Board to move the wooden .educational buildings located on the church grounds on Auden Street between Milton and Amherst to lots owned by the church at the corner of ia~ilton and College Streets in order that building space could be provided for a proposed addition to the permanent church structure. Rapp, 6612 Rutgers, requested by letter, permission to subdivide Lot 5, Block 29, hest University Place 1st Addition, into two 50x150 Ft. lots to front on fiutgers Street for purpose of selling the North 50 Ft. so that another residence might be erected.. Pto action was taken at this time as the Board desired to make a personal inspection of the property before making any .recommendation to the City Council. ?niith no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
