ing members present: Mr. Roy Maley, presiding; Messrs. Goff, Morris,
and Riggs. Mr. Moss was absent.
Mr. J. Brooks Harris, owner of the property at 5820 Annapolis appeared
before the Board stating that he purchased the property at this address,
on which was an existing residence and a garage with living quarters
above, about three years ago. Mr. Harris explained that he had been
renting both the douse and garage living quarters to two families con-
tinuously since the time of purchase until the tenant in the garage
quarters moved about December 1, 1951. 1~r Harris requested permission
to occupy the living quarters above -the garage and continue renting the
house to a tenant with reservation of one bedroom and kitchen facilities
for a temporary period of one to three years. Mr. Harris told the Board
he planned to get married in July and due to financial circumstances
desired this arrangement until conditions would permit his furnishing
the house at which time he would vacate the garage, quarfiers.
After the Board discussed this request w3th'9~r. Harris and explained to
him that two families living on this property which is in a single family
dwelling district constituted a definite violation of the zoning ordinance
in their opinion, Mr. Harris withdrew his request and no action was
taken.
