B0~lR~ .: sEPT'EMS~t •20, 1951 The Zoning and Planning Board convened in regular session Thursday, September 20, 1951, 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mr. Maley, presiding: Messrs. Goff and Moss. Messrs. Morris and Riggs were absent. ?:4r. M. G. Bolton appeared before the Board requesting permission to erect a portable office building on the lot at 2627 Bissonnet to be used in connection with the sale of used cars from this lot. The Board advised Mr. Bolton that this location was in the retail business district and fire limits and- the erection of buildings in this district of wood, ironclad, stucco and veneer type was prohibited according to Section 1~ of the ~,oning Ordinance. Motion by Mr. Moss, seconded by Mr. Goff that the Board recommend to the City Council that the request of Mr. Bolton for permission to erect a portable office building on the lot at 2627 Bissonnet to be used in connection with the sale of used cars be denied. Voting Aye: A.11 Voting No None r:Zr. ?N. G. Falls, Lt009 Oberlin, submitted a request to the Board for permission to construct a taro car garage approximately 18 x 20 Ft. in connection with an existing attached one-car garage which is not large enough to accommodate his automobile, I~r. Falls advised that it was his intention to use the present garage as a laundry room and the two-car garage for his automobile and pick-up truck.. Motion by Mr. Moss, seconded by Mr. Goff that the Board recommend to the City Council that the request of Mr. Falls for permission to creel's two- car garage approximately 18 x 20 Ft. in addition to the existing one-car attached garage which will be used as a laundry room be approved. Voting dye: nal Voting Pdo None Mrs. Annie Hyndman, owner of Lot I~, dock 2, tiYest University Place 1st Addition, appeared before the Board requesting that the Zoning Ordinance be amended to include this lot in the retail business district. Motion by Mr. Goff, seconded by I~r. Moss that the Board recommend denial of the request to amend the Zoning Ordinance to include Lot !~, Block 2, ~'#est University Place First ~.ddition in thr retail business district. Voting P,ye: X11 Voting No None ,~, The members of the Board present discussed advisability of changing the regular meeting night of the Zoning Board from the third Thursday night to the second Thursday night of each month. It was their decision to change the meeting night to the second Thursday night of each month.
