MINUTES OF SPECIAL HEFTING

The Zoning and Planning Board convened in special session Thursday,
September 13, 1951, 7:30 P.H. with the following members present:
r:4r. Haley, presiding; ~~essrs. Goff, Morris and Moss. Ms. Riggs was
absent.
The purpose of this meeting was to further consider a petition submitted
on August 16, 1951, on behalf of the owners of property situated on and
~-? near Bellaire Boulevard in the 1100, l~100A and L~200 blocks, requesting
that this property be changed from a single-family residence area to a
'°"` retail business zone by amending Zoning Ordinance No. 111.
After careful and considerate deliberation of the reasons set forth by
the petitioners and other pertinent factors, the following action was
taken;
Notion by Mr. Goff, seconded by Hr. Adorris that the Board recommend to
the City Council that the request for re-zoning the property mentioned
be denied far the reason that our Zoning Qrdinance was designed to protect
the citizens against encroachments and preserve the area for residences
and the Board is unable to find any justifiable reasons for making any
recommendations to re-zone the property for business purposes.
Voting Aye: All

With no further business to come .before the Board at this time, upon°`
motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
