HomeMy WebLinkAbout08161951 ZPC Minutes~~~ MINUTE C~' REGULAR MEETING ZONING & PLANNING BOARD .AUGUST lb, 1951 The Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall on Thursday, August 16, 1951, with the following members present: Mr. Maley, presiding; Messrs. Goff and Riggs. Messrs. Morris and Moss were absent. Mr. Chas. A. Wyatt, 3617 Bissonnet, requested permission to construct a sleeping porch on the rear of their existing two car garage and guest. house. Mr. Wyatt advised the Board that his. son and family were planning to occupy the living quarters and needed the extra space for the two children. Motion by Mr. Goff, seconded by Mr. Riggs that the Board recommend to the City Council that the request of Mr. Wyatt, 3617 Bissonnet, for permission to erect an addition to the existing living quarters over the garage be denied as the purpose of the enlargement is to provide housing facilities for an additional family to live on the premises which is a violation of the Zoning Ordinance. 1 Voting Aye: All Voting No None Mr. L. B. Bridker and Mr. K. G. Erquart, representing the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company appeared before the Board to discuss action taken by the Board on July 19, 1951, reference their request to erect an-open. type car storage building at the rear of Lot 17, Cambridge Place Addition on the Northeast corner of Bellaire Blvd. and Academy Street. No further action was taken on the matter. A group of property owners from the 4100 and 4200 blocks of Bellaire Blvd. requested that the city's Zoning Ordinance be amended 'changing property along Bellaire Blvd. from Academy Street to the railroad from a single- family residential area to a retail business zone. After the matter was discussed it was the decision of the Board to defer any action on the matter until a time when all members of the Board were present and a further study fade of the request. 1~ith no further business to came before the Board at this time, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
