MINUTES OF REGtTLAR MEETING
ZCNING & PLANNING BOAP.D
OCTOB;~i. 20, 1919
The Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall
on Thursday, October 2U, 19119, 7:30 P.M, with the following members present:
Mr. C. C. King, presiding; Messrs. Allen, Chavanne, Jones and Maley.
Mr. John ti~endel, Representative of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
req=.~ested approval of plans and specifications for enlarging a temporary
building now being used as a Sunday School room and for Boy Scout meetings.
The plans submitted showed a proposed addition !~0 x 16.lt Ft, making the
over-all dimensions 62.11 x 16.It Ft. including the present structure. The
proposed building °a~ould_,b~ constructed of the same type of materials as
the existing bt~ilding,~and would consist of two additional class rooms to
be used by thex~hurch. Mr. o+`endel also requested an extension of time on
the existing building, expiration date being November 1, 1950.
Motion by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Maley that the Board recommend issuance
of a building permit to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for ccnstruction
of an addition to the existing temporary building tivhich is being used for
Sunday School rooms and Scout meetings; also that permission be granted for
the Church to use the proposed addition for Sunday School reems and Scout
meetings for a period of t~~o years, expiration date being November 1, 1951•

Motion by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Chavanne that the temporary permit
issued to the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for the use of the existing
temporary structure as a boy scout meeting room and Sunday School room be
extended until AIovember 1, 1951.

Mr. ''+ti. G. Jones, 61C6 Lake Street, appeared before the Board requesting
permission to convert an existing utility room on the premises at the
above address into living quarters. Mr. Janes was asked to submit a
sketch of the proposed building together with a letter advising of the in-
tended use at which time the Board would be glad to consider the request.
No action was taken.
Mrs. R. E. House representing Mrs. 'rYinnie Kiibler of 6l~25 Brompton Road,
requested the Board to waive the 1 brick restrictions at this location
permitting erection of a frame house. A sketch showing the surrounding
properties and the type of construction was submitted. After the request
was discussed and the sketch was studied Mrs. House advised the Board
that Pairs. Kiibler would consider using asbestos shingles on the house in-
stead of frame.
Motion by Mr. Chavanne, seconded by Mr. Maley that the Board recommend
that the 51~ brick restrictions be waived permitting Mrs. Kiibler to erect
a house at 61125 Brompton Road using asbestos siding instead of brick.

Mr. M. R. Smith, representing the des-band Building Co, requested the
Board to recommend that the 30' building set back line for business es-
tablishments be waived permitting the Company to erect a 5C x 191 Ft.
store building on the north 75' Lot 2, Lot 1 and 2~' reserve, Block 21,
Collegeview First Addition with a set back line of 2U Ft.
Motion by Mr. Allen,-seconded by A~Irr. Chavanne that the Board recommend
that the 30' set back line be waived on the above specified property to
permit a 20' set back line on ~eslayan Street subject to a letter from
the adjacent property owner to the south stating there were no objections.

With no further business to come before the Board at this time, the
meeting was adjourned.
