C. King, presiding; Mr. Roy Maley, Mr. Franklin Jones and I~r. Duncan Allen. Ms. Harry Chavanne was absent. Mr. H. C. Everett, owner of property known as Lot No. 1 of the Davis re- subdivision of Lot 6, Block $, ~aYest University Place No. I,.appeared before the Board requesting that an exception be made to the. present restrictions relative to the use of brick on a proposed residence at the corner of Brompton and Carnegie and also the construction of a sidewalk on the Carnegie Street side. Mr. Everett advised that he wished to use frame or frame .and cedar shake shingles instead of brick facing-for reason that the houses ad- jacent to this lot on the side, rear and across Carnegie ©n the opposite corner are of frame construction and all of the houses on this block facing Brompton on the East side are of frame or frame and asbestos shingle con- struction; however the houses on the two corners facing Brompton on the ~~~est side-are of brick construction. Mr. Everett desired permission to eliminate construction of a sidewalk .along the Carnegie Street side of this lot for reason that there .is at present only one sidewalk on Carnegie at this intersection; this being in front of the only house facing Car- negie. It was brought aut in the discussion that Lot 6, Block $, Wiest University Place No. 1, had been subdivided by deed but no ofi'fcial action had been taken by the Zoning Board. Motion by Mr. Allen, seconded by Mr. Maley that Lot 6, Block $, rest University Place No. 1, be resubdivided into six 50 x 100 Ft. lots; .four to face north on Carnegie Street and two to face west on Brompton Street as shown in Vol. 59, page 53 of the County Tax Assessor's Records; and that the request of fir. Everett to use-frame or frame and cedar shake shingles instead of ~br~.ck~ on a ,proposed residence on the 50 x 100' lot at the corner of Brompton and Carnegie Strut and to omit a sidewalk along the Carnegie street side of this lot be granted subject to observance of a 30' building sett~ack line on Brompton and a 12' setback on Carnegie Street also subject to compliance of the 1350 Sq.
