ZONING & PLANNING BOARD
FEBRUARY 18, 19119
The Zoning and Planning Board of the City of test University Flace met in
regular session at the City Hall on Thursday February 18, 19l~9, 7:30 P.A.R.
with the following members present: Mr. 0. C. Ffing, presiding; Mr. F. C.
Jones, Mr. Duncan Allen, Mr. H. J. Chavanne and Mr. Roy Maley.
Mrs. C. R. Lee, 6616 Sewanee, represented by her son, Mr. W. E. Lee, advised
the Board that a building permit had been obtained to rebuild a garage building
which had been destroyed by fire about two months ago, but she also desired a
permit to erect an extension approximately 121 x 18~ to be used as a green
house. Mr. Lee explained that one side and one end of the structure would be
of glass according to proposed plans with the balance to be of the same ma-
terial used for the garage building, and assured the Board that the use would.
not be as a commercial enterprise but for pleasure only.
Motion by Mr. Chavanne, seconded by Mr. Allen that the request of flRrs. Lee
for permission to build an extension onto her garage approximately 12 x 18 ft.
to be used as a greenhouse be approved subject to execution of affidavit that
this building would not be used commercially.

Voting No None
Mrs. Mattye Spears, 6009 Lake, requested permission to construct a garage
apartment in connection with her home located at the above address, to be
occupied by her daughter and family.

Motion by Mr. Allen, seconded by Mr. Maley that the application of Mrs.
Spears for permission to construct a garage apartment at 6009 Lake Street be
denied for reason that this would constitute a two family dwelling in a
single family dwelling area which is in direct violation of the Zoning Ordi-
nance of the City.

Voting No None
Mrs. N. G. McFadyen, 11117 Tennison, appeared before the Board requesting
permission to place a prefabricated utility building on the southeast corner
of her lot which would be in the back of her home. This building which would
be a maximum size of lOt x 18~ would be faced with 105 siding to match her
house and garage and would be-used as a play room, storage room and occasional
sleeping room.
P~Eotion by Mr. Chavanne, seconded by Mr. Allen that the request of Mrs. McFadyen
to place a prefabricated utility building on the southeast corner of her lot
to be used as a play room, storage room and occasional sleeping room be
granted subject to execution of usual affidavit.

Voting No : None
Motion by Mr. Allen, seconded by.Mr. Maley that action taken by the Zoning
Board on February 7, 19l~9, recommending approval of the request of Mr. Gus
N. Reeves to face proposed home on Edloe Street instead of Arnold street and
the request of Mr. Eugene T. Sealey, 3l~21t University Blvd. to enclose the.
front porch of his home be ratified.

Voting No : None
Nith no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting; eras adjourned.
