A meeting of the Zoning & Planning Commission was held on Tuesday, January 14,1947,
immediately following the meeting called by the City Secretary fcr the purpose of
administering the oath of office to the members of the various citizens committees
appointed by the newly elected City Commission.
Present at this first meeting of the Zoning & Planning Coirnnission were the following
members:
Hal E.Terry,Chairman
O.C.King
I~rs . ~d,E.Eberling, Secretary
The following members were unable to attent

Tre following official business was transacted:.
1 - ter. Terry presented an architect's sketch of a multiple family dwelling and
petition from ~~~r.Ross a'~filliams, to construct a multiple family dwelling on the .corner
(southwest) of issonnet and ~i'akefores eti ion was unanimously denied, and ~1r.Terry
was instructed to advise ?r.~+illiams that inasmuch as the entire block affected was
restricted to one family dwellings it would be necessary for him to secure the written
consent of all property owners in that block - both on the north and on the south sides
before the Commission would consider any further action on such a petition.
2 _ lair. Terry reported that ?7r. Al Crystal had called and asked what disposition the
Commission had made of his (~~r.Crystal's~ petition for the zoning for business of certain
lots on the west side of Kirby Drive from Rice south to University Boulevard. NIr.Terry
stated that e a vise :gip' rys a that the present oning `omYaission had not had an
official meeting as yet and was nat familiar with such a petition.
'j'he members present agreed that the City Secretary should be instructed, and he was so
instructed, to deliver to the Zoning ~ Planning Commission any pending petitions or
applications that might have beer. filed with the City for action of the Zoning 8c Planning
Commission, and on which the previous Zoning ~ Planning Commission had deferred action,
The members present agreed that the Zoning Ec Planning Commission would meet officially
at the City Hall at 7;30 PT~R, on the fourth Thursday of each month,. to consider
whatever business may properly come before said commission, All matters to be
presented to the Zoning Ps Planning Commission should be filed with the City Secretary
at least a week before the regular meetings of the commission.
There being no -further business to come before the Commission, upon motion duly made
and seconded, the meeting was adjourned. (Next meeting to beheld January 23,1947,
