REGULAR MEETING OF ZONING & PLANNING-BOARD
AUGUST 11, 1960
The Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City
Hall Thursday, August ll, 1960, 7:30 p.m., with the following members
present: Chairman Rice, presiding; Messrs. Gill, Hannah, Fitzgerald
and Hangs present.
The Oath was administered to Mr. Frank Hangs by Mayor Wesley R. Brown.
Mr. G. W. Weinle, 3618 Duke, appeared before the Board requesting per-
mission to enc ose an exls ing front porch.
Mr. Weinle's house meets all setback requirements.. .The parch to be
improved extends less than 10 feet in front of the house.
There are only 2 houses on the north side of Duke and the other house
does not set back as far as the Weinle's house. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Potter,.
owners of the other home, who are in .the process of improving their property,
appeared with Mr. Weinle, signifying their approval of the planned improve-
ments Mr. Weinle wishes to make.
The side setback of the residence on the lot east of Weinle's, facing
Mercer, is less than the porch setback of the Weinle's house.
There is no uniformity in front setback of the two houses facing Duke
and the side setback of the corner-house on Mercer.
Motion by Hannah, seconded by Gill, that the request of Mr. G. W. Weinle
for permission to enclose an existing front porch, be approved, because
there is no uniformity in the setbacks on this block and the planned
improvement does not change the present arrangement and will be a desirable
asset to that .neighborhood and to the community as a whole.
With no further business to come before the Board, upon motion duly made,
seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
