HomeMy WebLinkAbout05121960 ZPC Minutesi MEETING OF ZONING AND PLANNING BOARD THURSDAY~MAY 12,.1960 The Zoning and Planninb Board convened at the City $all on Thursday, May 12,1960, 7; 3C P. M., with the following members present; Chairman Horace Rice, presiding; Messrs. Gill, Hannah and Fitzgerald. Mr. Wyngarden was absent. The Oath of Office was administered by Mayor Pro-tem E. R. Davis to Mr. Ray Fitzgerald, as a member of the Board. As requested by the City Commission and the Zoning Board, Messrs. P~,rcellus A. Bettler, x+223 Lehigh,-and J. F. Kleeme3.er: 3763 Rice Blvd., submitted written requests to the Board concerning various changes they desire on their property. Mr. Nlarcellus A. Bettler requested permission to construct a Porte cochere on the east side. of his existing residence with supporting pillars to be placed one foot inside the property line. 1~r. J. F. Kleemeier's request also asked for an exception to the ordinance to permit him to construct a 20 x 20 ft. carport in front of his detached garage with supports on t~f~.e west side approximately 18 inches from the property line. Mr. J. F. After discussion, it was the opinion of the Board that action on these two requests should be deferred pending further consideration. After considerable discussion, the Board decided to recomaaend to the City Commission that the City Attorney be instructed to draw up an amendment to' Ordinance No. 111 al owing suppor s or carports to a oo e w n s e se ac nes wi rao ine or any o er s ruc ure member parallel to roof line not to extend into side setback line; the supports are to be limited to a um,ximum of three (3) of fireproof material; carport is not to be enclosed except against house or garage.
