Thursday, March 13, 1958, at the City xa11, with the following members present: Mr, A. G. Davis, presiding; Messrs. Campbell, Gill, Hannah, Rice and Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Don Guthrie, 2618 Sunset Boulevard, requested approval to replace a small canopy roof over the west outside door of their residence, such roof ex- tending to the side property line. All umbers of the Board inspected the premises, and, in view of the fact that the old violation had been in existence for many years, with no recorded com- plaint and,due to the construction of the house, that it would be hardly pos- sible to provide adequate protection of the entrance in any other way, the fo1- lowing action was taken: Motion by Mr. David Hannah, seconded by Mr. Gill, that the request of Mr. and Mrs. Don Guthrie to replace a small canopy roof over the west outside door of their residence at 2618 Sunset Boulevard be approved, subject to a written agreement by the owners that if there were ever any objection,- the violation would be removed, (Mr. and Mrs. Guthrie readily promised to furnish such a signed statement.] Voting Aye: All No: None _Mr. C. B. Paris, a former resident of West University Place for twenty years, presently living in Bellaire, appeared before the Board and advised he had purchased a 100 x.150 ft. lot at the northwest corner of Westchester and ~_ and planned to build on it and move back to West University shortly. Mr. Paris sought information as to the possibility of currently or later s~~~.i- viding this lot so it could be utilized for two houses. 4- The Board discouraged his requesting a subdivision at the time since all the neighboring corner lots were of the same approximate dimensions, but suggested he arrange his building plans so that ;the lot might be later divided, if neces- sary. xe indicated he preferred to retain the full 100-foot frontage on West- chester, making a second lot of 65 or 70 x 100 feet fronting on Duke, and, in the general opinion of the Board, this would be preferable to two 50 x 150-foot lots fronting on Westchester. No official action was taken at this meeting, pending further study of plans, etc., by Mr. Paris. With no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned. Chairman ~.. ~- ~~ ~ ~ Secretary ~~
