MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF ZONING AND PLANNING BOARD
NOVEMBER 14, 1957
The Zoning and Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hail 7:30 P.M.
Thursday, November 1~+, 1957, with the following members presents A. G. Davis, pre-
siding; Messrs. David Hannah, Charlie Wilson, Horace Rice. Messrs. Campbell and
Gill were absent...
Mr. ~1,. ~un~;ate~ 620 Vanderbilt, requested the Board to recommend that he be per -
witted to increase the size of his present garage, which would place the garage 3
Feet from the side property line, to add a carport approximately 18 x 20' to the
front, and a 16 x 30' Utility Room and Hobb'- aFop-to the back of the garage. Mr.
Hungate stated that he would confirm his request in writing and furnish a sketch
of the proposed building. He added in his statement that he did not propose to
install any plumbiag facilities.
Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Rice, that the request of Mr. Hungate for per-
mission to increase the size of his present garage, add a carport to the front of
the structure and a 16 x 3b' Utility Room and Hobby Shop to the back, subject to ex-
ecution of an affidavit by Mr. Hungate that the building would not be used for liv-
ing quarters or any commercial use; such affidavit to be filed as a covenant. with
the deed and to become a part of same in event of subsequent sale of the property.

Mr. Clayton Meadows, Chairman of the Board of .Trustees and Mr. W. W. Bowman Chair-

reques or permission to use Lot 11A, Bloc 2 , Wes Un versify P ce First Addition,
owned by the Church, as a parking lot. It was stated that the lot in question fronts
on Virginia Street, which s e eas -oundary of Poor Farm Ditch, and use of the
lot for parking purposes would not detract from the general area, but instead, would
improve the appearance and health conditions by the removal of high grass.
Motion by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Mr. Hannah, that the request of the West Univer-
sity Methodist Church for use of Lot 11A, Block 25, West University Flace First Ad-
dition for parking purposes be approved.

A request from Mr. H. L. McCormick, 63~+~+ Sewanee, for permission to subdivide Lots-
1 and 2, Block , Wes n very y ee rs Addition, was eons3.dere~c..-"'fir.
McCor c was no present to answer certain questions that the Board felt pertinent,
therefore the following action was taken:
Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by M`r. Rice, that the request from Mr. H. L. McCormick
for permission to s'tibdivide Lots 1 and 2, Block 2~+, West University Place First Ad-
dition, be tabled pending development of further information.
