The Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall,
Thursday, July 12, 1956, 7:30 P.M. with the following members present; Mr.
A. G. Davis, presiding; Messrs. Hannah and Madeley. Messrs. Halbert and
Wilson were absent.
Dr. Charles H. McClendon and Mr. Tom,,. Wheat appeared in support of their
request for rezoning property on Stella Link known as Block 2 Cunn~
Terrace. It was proposed that a multi-story office-t builds be erected
an t 6 and the~N ~+0 Ft. of Lot 5, Block 6 w ch is presently zoned for
c rc a purposes, a a par o e Nort portion of Black 2, with the re-
mainder of Block 2 far parking purposes for convenience of the tenants of the
building. The Board asked that they be given time to study the request and
obtain legal advice, to which Messrs. McClendon and Wheat readily agreed.
A letter from Mrs. Frank J. Hemmi, 6728 West Point requesting permission to
erect a carport between the present garage building which fronts on Cason to
extend to within three feet of the property line. After the Board carefully
studied the request and made a trip to the location to view the property the
following action was taken:
Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Madeley that the request of Mrs.-Frank
J. Hem~ni, 6728 West Paint, for permission to erect a ca rt to extend to
within three feet of the property line on Cason be denied,.
Voting Aye; All No; None
{For the benefit cif the City Cammissian, it was the opinion of the Zoning
Board members that this particular property in sufficiently large enough to
permit other arrangements for garage facilities without encroaching into the
required setback distance.)
With no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
