MZNiJZ'ES OF SPECIAL MEETIlVG OF ZONING & PLANN:~G BOARD
JULY 5, 1956
The Zoning & Planning Board convened in special session on Thursday, July 5,
1956, with the following members present; Mr. M. C. Halbert, presiding;
Messrs. Da~*is, Hannah, Wilson and Madeley.
Mr. Charles L. Gillespie, 2815 Robinhood requested the Board to recommend
approval for construction_of a carport with a supporting post 2 Ft, from
the side property line.
Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Davis, that the Board recommend denial
of the request of Mr. Charles L. Gillespie for construction of a carport
with a supporting post 2 Ft. from the side property line.
Voting Aye; All
No: None
In compliance with the request of Mr. L. F. Durginy 5424 Fairmount on June
14, 1956, for permission to install separate electric service. to a garage
apartment which he owns at 4201 Dartmouth adjacent to his residence, members
of the Board had personally visited the property and took the following
action:
Motion by Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Hannah that the Board :recommend denial
of the request of Mr. L. F. Durgin for installation of separate electric
service to a garage apartment at 4201 Dartmouth which was constructed prior
to passage of the Zoning Ordinance as such installation would constitute
improvements to an existing violation in a single family residential area.
Voting Aye; All No; None
Mr. & Mrs. George Marshall, 4202 Bellaire Blvd. asked that the Board take
immediate action on their request of May 10, 1956, for rezoning their prop-
erty adjacent to the Y.M.C.A. building.
Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Davis, that the Board recommend
denial of the request of Mr. and Mrs. George Marshall to rezone Lot 2,
Block 1, Colonial Terrace for business purposes, as approval of such request
would constitute spot rezoning.
Voting Aye; All
No: None
With no further action to come before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
