HomeMy WebLinkAbout06091955 ZPC Minutes~~ MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING aF ZONING & PLANNING BE3AAD 9, 1955 The .Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall on ~ursday, June 9, 1955, with the following members present: Mr. Ed. Davis, presiding; Messrs. Gordon Davia9 R. E. Maley and Charles Wilson. Messrs. Halbert and Hannah were absent. Mr. A. D. Hunter, 2639 Barbara Lane, appeared before the Board and explained that he had recently purchased the residence at this address which included a detached double garage with servants quarters above but had not been used recently for this purpose. Mr. Hunter explained that he had repaired the pl~uabing and desired permission to install an air-conditioningunit in order that the quarters might be used far guests only. Mr. Hunter appreciated the protection offered by the city's zoning ordinance but thought perhaps his request could be granted. since he had no intention of renting the apartment. The Board's position was fully explained in that the zoning is for the protection of citizens in general. Motion by Mr. Maley, seconded by Mr. Gordon Davis that the Board recom- mend to the City Corr~nis$ion that the request of Mr. A. D. Hunter, for permission to install an air-conditioning unit in .the garage living quarters be denied on the basis that this would be aiding the de~velop- ment of a potential violation. Voting Aye: All No: None Mr. Edward Bodet, Ax+chitect, representing the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church advised that an addition is proposed to the present church building and requested permission for the bui di to extend 1!t Ft. beyond the front set-back line.
