9, 1955
The .Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall
on ~ursday, June 9, 1955, with the following members present: Mr. Ed.
Davis, presiding; Messrs. Gordon Davia9 R. E. Maley and Charles Wilson.
Messrs. Halbert and Hannah were absent.
Mr. A. D. Hunter, 2639 Barbara Lane, appeared before the Board and
explained that he had recently purchased the residence at this address
which included a detached double garage with servants quarters above
but had not been used recently for this purpose. Mr. Hunter explained
that he had repaired the pl~uabing and desired permission to install an
air-conditioningunit in order that the quarters might be used far
guests only. Mr. Hunter appreciated the protection offered by the
city's zoning ordinance but thought perhaps his request could be granted.
since he had no intention of renting the apartment. The Board's position
was fully explained in that the zoning is for the protection of citizens
in general.
Motion by Mr. Maley, seconded by Mr. Gordon Davis that the Board recom-
mend to the City Corr~nis$ion that the request of Mr. A. D. Hunter, for
permission to install an air-conditioning unit in .the garage living
quarters be denied on the basis that this would be aiding the de~velop-
ment of a potential violation.
