MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF ZONING & PLANNING BOARD
MAY 23, 1955
The-Zoning & Planning Board convened in special session on Monday, May 23,
1955, with°the following members present; Mr. Ed Davis, presiding; Messrs.
Halbert, Maley, Wilson and A. G. Davis. Mr. Hannah was absent.
The Board convened at the request of Mr. C. W. Taylor.,. 6320 Wakeforest, who
desired permission to epect an 8x10 Ft. addition to his existing garage fbr
storage of garden tools and to inc u e a comm a and wash bowl.- Mr ...Taylor
requested the Board to take action on this date in order that .the recommendation
could be presented to the City Commission at their meeting at 7.:30 P.M.
Members of the Board unanimously recommended, on basis that provisions of this
accommodation-would set up a potential violation by making it easy-to convert
into rent property, that the request be denied. It was fully understood that
Mr. Taylor has no intentions of doing this but the recommendation is in con-
sistency with other decisions in such cases where requests were not approved
because the Board could not be sure in case the property whould change .ownership.
The Board realized there could be extinuating circumstances of which they were
not aware, but since Mr. Taylor insisted on action this date, the recommendation
must be negative as they were not given an opportunity to receive full details
or to review the plans of the .proposed structure.
With no further business to comae before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried,~the meeting was adjourned.
