MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
ZONING & PLANNING BOARD
AUGUST 20, 1954
The Zoning and Planning Board convened in special session on Friday, August
20, 1954, with the following members present: Mr. Ed Travis, presiding;
Messrs. A. G. Davis, Chas. Taylor, David Hannah, and H. C. Halbert.
Mrs. Anna Aydam, 6719 Annapolis, requested permission tc extend her existing
garage to the rear of her property which would extend 12' into the 5' set
back requirement. It was the unanimous opinion that the Board recommend that
the request of Mrs. Aydam be respectfully rejected due to the fact that the
necessary lengthening of her garage to accommodate her car could be accom-
plished by an extension onto the front of the garage. The Board realized
that this solution to Mrs. Aydam's problem is more expensive than her suggested
proposal, but in the interest of preserving the Zoning Ordinance with a mini-
mum of exceptions, the Board does not feel an exception in this case should
be recommended.
Mr. Ed Averdieck, 4005 Rice Boulevard, submitted a proposal to convert one-half
of his garage into a playroom wit s eetrock walls and ceiling and asrock
file floor, electric outlets but no plumbing or heating connections.
It was the unanimous recommendation of the Board that Mr. Averdieck's request
be recommended for approval subject to his execution of an affidavit to the
effect that the play room would never be used far rental purposes or in any
way be converted to a housekeeping unit.
With no further business to ccme before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
