HomeMy WebLinkAbout07081954 ZPC Minutes~'n{, f~ 6_A MINUTES OF REGULAR MEE'T'ING ZONING & PLANNING BOARD JULY 8, 195+ The Zcning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall, Thursday, July 8, 195+, 7;30 P.M. with the following members present: Mr. E. R. Davis, presiding; Messrs. Hannah and Halbert. Messrs. A. G. Davis and Charles Taylor were absent. A request from Mrs. C. W. Heath for permission to resubdivide Lot 7, Block 13, West University Place 1st Addition was considered. Mrs. Heath advised by letter that the 100x200 Ft. lot had been subdivided in 19+8 into two lots of 100x108 Ft. and 92x100 Ft. but due to certain improvements since that date it was now desired to resubdivide the lots 100x113 Ft. and 87x100 Ft. Mrs. Heath desired to grant a 5' easement for utility purposes off the rear of the 87 Ft. lot. Motion. by Mr. Halbert, seconded by Mr. Hannah that the Board recommend re- subdivision of Lot 7, Block 13, West University Place 1st Addition into two lots, 100 x 113' and 87 x 100' as requested subject to the 5' easement being granted across the rear of the 87' lot, which will be the southern boundary of the lot, in order that the existing residence on the 113' west portion of the lot might continue to be served with necessary utilities. Voting Aye: All Voting No None Mr. David Bland requested permission to subdivide Lot 6, Block 3S, West Uni- versity Place 1st Addition located at the corner of Mereer and Pittsburg into two 50 x 130.25' lots to front on Mercer Street. Mr. Bland advised that it was his intent to move the house presently located on the lot to the E2 of Lot 7, Block 35, West University Place 1st Addition. Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Halbert that the Board recommend ap- proval of the resubdivision of Lot 6, Block 35, West University Place 1st Addition into two 50 x 130.25' lots to front on Mercer Street as requested by Mr. David Bland, since approximately all of the other lots fronting on Mercer Street in adjacent blocks are divided into 50' widths. Voting Aye: All Voting No : None A letter from Mr. Thomas Elliott requesting permission to build a residence containing 800 square feet instead of 1200 Sq. Ft. on S2 of Lot 11, Block 35, West University Place 1st Addition which is located 100' north of Carnegie Street and fronting the Poor Farm Ditch was again considered by the Board and the following action taken: Motion by Mr. Hannah, seconded by Mr. Halbert that the request of Mr. Thomas Elliott for permission to erect a residence containing 800 Sq. Ft. instead of 1200 Sq. Ft. on the S2 of Lot 11, Block 35, West University Place 1st Addition be denied since lowering of the restrictions to that extent cannot be justified by the Board to the general interest of the Community. $,~~~ 4 Voting Aye: All Voting No : None With no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
