REGULAR MEETING
ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION
APRIL 9, 1970
The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place convened
in regular session at the City Hall, Thursday, April 9, 1970 with the following
members present: Chairman David W. Hannah, presiding; L. B. Bricker, R. C.
Hilton, E. Gene .Hines, and H. E. Lott.
Students from Rice University who are seeking a degree of Master of Architecture
in Urban Design appeared at .the meeting and presented a project of study they
had prepared. The specific project assigned them was to "simulate the develop-
ment of townhouses within the legal construction of a zoned municipality".
Project team members were: Peter Rowe, Urban Design Rice University; Randhir
Sahni, Urban Design Rice University; Sigfried Schuster, Urban Design~Rice Univer-
sity' Ronald Shoup, Urban Design~Rice University; Bill Kendall, Architecture
Rice University; and Forest Cook, Bates College Qf Law University of Houston.
Professor John Mixon, instructor in Urban Design, was also present.
A very stimulating discussion between members of the Zoning and Planning Commis-
sion and the students concerning zoning followed the presentation.
There being no further business to come before the Commis
motion duly made, seconded, and carried, the meeting adjq
