HomeMy WebLinkAbout06081967 ZPC Minutes7 REGULAR MEETING OF ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION JUNE 8, 1867 The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place convened in regular session at the City Hall, 3800 University Boulevard, at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, .June 8, 1867. The .following members were present: Chairman Hannah, presiding; Members Bricker, Hines and Lott. Chairman Hannah announced that a public hearing had been called for 7:30 p.ffi. to consider application number 67-1, requesting subdivision of Lot 5, Block 88, West University Place Second Addition, filed. by Mr. E. J. Kipp, 6636 Buffalo Speedway, owner of the property under consideration. Motion by Mr. Bricker, seconded by Mr. Hines that the public hearing be called to order. Chairman Hannah stated for ~`+ the record that notice had been published in the Houston Chronicle on May 2~-, 1967 N and that notices were mailed to all property owners within 200 feet of the property ~ 'under consideration on May 15, 1867. He then administered the oath to those ~ desiring to be heard in connection with the application. Mr. E. J. Kipp, owner;. Mr. Joe D. Watson, agent for Mr. Kipp, and Mr. Anthony Locasio, 5502 Buffalo., were the .only persons present. Mr, Locasio advised that he was only present to observe and had no objection to the proposed subdivision. There being no further information to be presented, and no questions of the owner or agent; the following action was taken. Motion by Mr. Lott, seconded by Mr. Bricker, that the public hearing be closed. Voting Aye: All Voting_No: None Motion by Mr. Lott, seconded by Mr. Hines that Lot 5, Block 88-, West University Place Second Addition be subdivided into two lots,: each 50 x 150-feet fronting on Buffalo Speedway, as requested by the owner, provided.~hat any structures erected comply in all things with the exisiting Cosde of Ordinances of the city, and that any necessary easement are granted. Voting Aye: All Voting No: None Chairman Hannah advised the Commission that in connection with the letter received from Mr. William G. Pollard with reference to Lot 5, Block 5, Preston Place, he had received a telephone call from the City Attorney during which this matter was discussed. After consiieration by the Commission, it was the general concensus that this matter should be held in abeyance until written opinion is received from the City Attorney, and that further consideration would then be given to the sub- j e ct . _. There was discussion concerning the application filed by Mr. W. F. Bettis for rezoning of the south 60 feet of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace. It was decided that this application would be held for further discussion at the next meeting, as Mr. Bettis had advised that he`is in the process of consulting with the owner of the remainder of Bloack 2, Cunningham Terrace, to submit a joint application on the entire block.
