The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place convened
in regular session at the City Hall on Thursday, April 13, 1967, 7:30 p.m., with
the following members present: Chairman Hannah, presiding; Members Bricker, .Hilton,
Hines and Lott.
Mr. W. F. Bettis, Manager of the Cellar Door Restaurant, 6732 Stella Link, appeared
before the Co~mnission,requesting rezoning information. He stated that he had pur-
chased the south 60 feet of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace Addition, and desired to have
this property rezoned for use as a parking are in connection with the restau.rant,on
the immediately adjacent property to the south.
After considerable discussion, the Commission advised Mr. Bettis that this matter
should probably be considered by the Zoning Board of Adjustment as an exception to
the zoning ordinance, in the absence of an application for rezoning of the entire
block, and inasmuch as rezoning of this small area would be considered spot zoning.
The Commission recommended that Mr. Bettis appear before the Zoning Board of Adjust-
ment in its regular meetong on April 20th, and request t~iat they consider the matter-.
The Commission discussed other matters concerning zon' g, and with no further business
to come before the Commission at this time, upon mot' n dul ma e, seconded and carried,
the meeting was adjourned.
