SPECIAL MEETING
ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION
MAY 14. 1979
The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place con-
vened in Special Organizational-meeting on Monday, May 14, 1979, 7:45 p.m.,
with the following members present: Chairman Norton, presiding;Members Abell,
Casey, Farrell and Lacook.
The Chairman ascertained from the secretary that proper notice of meeting
had been posted at the City Hall three days prior to the scheduled meeting.
Chairman Norton welcomed the new members to the Commission and briefly dis-
cussed duties and responsibilities of the Zoning and Planning Commission.- Mem-
bers also discussed duties of officers of the Commission.
Motion by Mr. Lacook, seconded by Mr. Farrell, that Mr. Casey be elected Chair-
man of the Zoning and Planning Commission by acclamation.
Voting Aye: Abell Voting No: None

Motion by Mr. Lacook, seconded by Mr. Norton, that Mr. Farrell be elected Vice-
Chairman of the Zoning and Planning Commission by acclamation..

Motion by Mr. Lacook, seconded by Mr. Norton, that Mr. Abell be elected secre-
tary of the Zoning and Planning Commission by acclamation.
Voting Aye: Casey Voting No: None

After a discussion of the members availibility the following action was taken;
Motion by Mr. Norton, seconded by Mr. Farrell, that the regular meetings of the
Zoning and Planning Commission. be scheduled for the second Thursday of each
month.

After a discussion of the Rules of Procedure of the Zoning and Planning Commission
the following action was taken:

Motion by Mr. Farrell, seconded by Mr. Lacook, that "..... followed by questions
from audience." be deleted from Page Four, Section 2, e(5); and ".....followed
by applicant and those in audience.°1 deleted from Section 2, e(7); and that
e(8) read: "Questions from the audience directed to Chairman."; and that "Motion
to close public hearing." become e(9).
Voting Aye: All Voting No: None
Motion by Mr. Farrell, seconded by Mr. Norton, that "...Questions can then be
directed to the applicant .from the floor." be deleted from Section 1, f(4); and
that "....or the applicant to those persons appearing in .opposition to the
applicant." be deleted from Section 1, f(5); and that f(6) read: "Question .from
the audience directed to Chairman."; and that present f(6) become f(8) and f(9).

Motion by Mr. LaCook, seconded by Mr. Abell, that Rules of Procedure of the
,C,r Zoning and Planning Commission be approved as submitted with amendments as

scheduled for a Special Meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission to re-
view a Final Report and Recommendation to the City Commission concerning re-
zoning of
Lot 1, Block _1
Collegeview 3rd Addition
3800 Block of .:Sunset

With no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion duly made,
seconded and carried,. the meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
