REGULAR MEETING OF ZONING & PLANNING BOARD
NOVEMBER l~, 1963
The Zoning & Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall on
Thursday, November 14, 1963, 7:30 p.m., with the following members present:
Chairman Gill, presiding; Members Lott, Jones, Haralson, Snyder-and Hilton,
Mr. C. D. Whatley, representing Mr. J. L. Graham, owner of the N l00 X 118'
of 'Lot 5, Block 1, WUP 1st Addition, appeared before the Board requesting
re-.subdivision of this tract into two 50 X 118' lots, each to front on Cason
Street. Mr, Max Carlson, who intends to purchase the west 50 X 118` lot if
it is subdivided, was also present. He stated that he is well aware of all
.the requirements of the zoning laws and that he is willing to abide by them.
He stated he would be glad to sign an affidavit that the servants' quarters
Qn this lot would never be rented. (According to building records, permit
#226+ was issued on 5~25~39 to build a two-story frame house on the east
50' of the lot and a two-story 20 X 30' frame garage and servants' quarters
on the W 50' of Lot 5, Block 41, West University Plact 1st Addition) He
also stated that if it were necessary he would have the plumbing removed
from same. Mr. Carlson intends to construct'a brick residence on the west
portion of the lot in front of the two-story garage..
Motion by Mr. Hilton, seconded by Mr. Haralson, that the Board recommend the
approval of the request of Mr. J. L. Graham for re-subdivision of the N 100
~ X 118' of Lot 5, Block 41, WUP lst Addition, unto two 50 X 118' lots each to
front on Cason Street.
Voting Aye: All Voting No: None
(The Board could find no infraction of the present zoning laws if'this lot
should be subdivided as requested. If any further action of the Zoning Board
is required in order to effect a legal subdivision of this lot in accordance
with the Zoning Ordi~.ance, the Zoning Board respectfully requests that the
City Attorney advise it specifically of the procedure to be followed.
With no further business to come before the Board at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
