HomeMy WebLinkAbout04111963 ZPC Minutes179' 1 7 M~`I'ING OF ZONING & PLANNING BOARD APRIL 11, 1863 The Zoning and Planning Board convened in regular session at the City Hall on Thursday; April ll, 1863, 7:30 p.m., with the following members .present: Chairman-Gill, presiding; Messrs. Hilton and Lott. Messrs. Haralson,Jones and Snyder were absent. , Mrs. Ralph A. Anderson, X126 Robinhood, requested permission to install 220 volt wiring in her garage apartment for air conditioning. Mrs. Anderson stated that the building was constructed in 1936, before passage of the zon- ing ordinance and has been used for rentalpurposes Continuously. (Building Permit records indicated that Permit No, 76g was issued May 20, 1836, for a 2-story brick veneer house and a two-story garage.) Motion by Mr. Lott, seconded by Mr. Hilton that the request of Mrs. Ralph Anderson,-3126 Robinhood, for supplemental wiring to accommodate an air conditioner in the existing garage apartment which was constructed prior to passage of the zoning ordinance, be recommended for approval. Voting Aye: All Voting No: None Mr. M. D. Hatfield,-2640 Pemberton Drive, appeared before the Board request- ing permission to install 220 volt electrical circuits for window air con- ditioning units in the servant quarters located on his premises described as Lots 11, 12, 13, of Block 4, Pemberton Addition, fronting 155 feet on Pemberton Drive. Mr. Hatfield stated that the structure was on the premises when he purchased the property in 1957 and had reportedly been used as servant quarters. (Building-Permit records indicated that Rrmit No. 1735, issued on September l4, 1838, was for a two-story brick veneer house and a two-story frame garage. A subsequent permit was issued May 31, 1851, for repair of fire damage to garage and servant quarters.) Mr. Hatfield stated that he was using the quarters for family use only and at the present time it is occupied a substantial portion of the year by his mother, who assists in caring for his $-year old child. He also stated that he was .very much in favor of upholding the zoning ordinance and did not wish to request anything which would weaken the ordinance, He agreed to execute an affi- davit that he would never use the structure for rental or commercial pur- poses but only for his immediate family. Motion by Mr. Hilton, seconded by Mr. Lott, .that the Board recommend approval of the request of Nh'. M, D, Hatfield, 2640 Pemberton Drive, for permission to install 220 volt electrical circuits for window air conditioning units in the servant quarters located at this address being Lots 11, 12, 13, Block 4, Pemberton Ac~ttion, with 155 ft. frontdge, subject to Mr. Hatfield's executing an affidavit that the structure will never be used-for rental or commercial purposes, but only for use by his immediate family.
