HomeMy WebLinkAbout11141968 ZPC Minutes~~t~: REGULAR MEETING OF ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION NOVEMBER 14, 1968 The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place convened in regular session at the City Hall on Thursday, November 14, 1968 at 7:30 p.m. with the following members present: Chairman David W. Hannah, presiding; Members L. B. Bricker, R. C. Hilton, E. Gene Hines, and H. E. Lott. Application number 68-1 submitted by representati~aes of Mrs. Rosalie Taylor, owner of the north 90' of Lot 5, Block 20, West University Place First Addition, City of West University Place, .Texas, located at 6320 Wakeforest, was presented to the. Zoning and Planning Commission for consideration. The Commission was advised that the applicant requested subdivision of the North 90' of Lot 5, Block 20 into two lots, each 90' x 150'.. one fronting on Wakeforest and one fronting on Brompton Rd. A sketch of the property and improvements was presented to the Commission. The prospective buyer of the above described property was also present, and he was ad- vised that the subdivision would be taken under consideration subject to receipt by the Zoning and Planning Commission of a survey of the property showing the .correct description and measurements of the land and all improvements thereon. The Zoning and Planning Commission discussed applications before them ..from Guy Robertson, president of Pilgrim Equipment Co., Inc., Tom Wheat and Sam Jett con- cerning rezoning of the following described property for commercial use and~or business and professional buildings: Lots 9, 10 and 11, Block 3, Cunningham Terrace Addition, City of West University Place, Texas, fronting on Stella Link; and The North .47 Acres of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace Addition, City of West University Place, Texas, bounded on the east side by Stella Link and on the west side by Weslayan Rd. The South 60' of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace Addition, City of West University Place, Texas, adjoins the above described North .47 Acres of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace Addition, and although it is now zoned for single-family dwelling, by Special Exception of the. Zoning Board of Adjustment, Appeal No. 67-2 dated April 19, 1967, it is now being used as a parking area. Discussion was held. on the desirability of including this property in the consideration for rezoning. Motion by Mr. Hines, seconded by Mr. Hilton, that a public hearing be called for 7:30 p.m. on December 12, 1968 to consider subdivision into two lots, each 90' x 150' of the North 90' of Lot 5, Block 20, West University Place First Addition, City of West University Place, Texas, located at 6320 Wakeforest, as requested by Mrs. Rosalie Taylor, and that proper legal notice be given. Voting Aye: All Voting No: None Motion by Mr. Lott, seconded by Mr. Bricker, that a::public hearing be called for 8:00 p.m, on December 12, 1968 to consider rezoning the following described lots for commercial use and~or business and professional buildings: ~~_ GO V G (1) Lots 9, 10 and 11. Block 3, Cunningham Terrace Addition, City of West University Place, Texas, fronting on Stella link; (2) The North .47 Acres of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace Addition, City of West University Place, Texas; (3) The South 60' of Block 2, Cunningham Terrace Addi- tion, City of West University Place, Texas, Properties (2) and (3) are bounded on the-east side. by Stella Link and on the west side by Weslayan Rd., and that proper legal notice be given. Voting Ayer All Voting No: None Motion by Mr. Hilton, seconded by Mme. Hines, that Mr. Hannah, Chairman, be authorized to prepare Preliminary Report to the City Commission con erning the rezoning of the above described properties.
