HomeMy WebLinkAbout06201968 ZPC Minutes MINUTES OF RECESSED MEETING ZONING AND PLA.NNIDTG COMMISSION JUNE 20, 1868 The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place con- vened in recessed session at the City Hall on Thursday, June 20, 1868, 7;30 p.m., with the following members present: Chairman Hannah, presiding; Members Bricker, Hilton, Hines and Lott. Chairman Hannah stated that inasmuch as there is no record of any setback re- quirements established for professional. office building district, that the Cosnm.is- sion should make these recommendations-to the City Commission in its Final Report It was .the general concenus that the following setback requirements be included in the Final Report and Recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Commission to the City Commission: Front set back - 5 feet Side setback (corner Lots) - On 50-foot - 10 feet On 50-60 foot street --5 feet On 70 foot street or w~.der - no setback Side setback (inside> lots) - None required Rear setback - 10 feet from property line There was discussion concerning an appropriate screening device. It was the general concensus of the Commission that the same type screening device required in the Townhouse District should be required in this district also. There was discussion as to whether a "Building Site" should be defined in the final report and recommendation. It was decided that the height requirement should be maximum of 35 feet; and no requirement as to number of stories. It was decided that signs might be permitted as follows: A wall sign attached to the front of the building not more than 30 square feet in area; o~ erected in the front yard behind the building line to not exceed 30 square feet in area; or erected in the front yard behind the building line to not exceed 30 square feet in area; otherwise, if illuminated, not the intermittent, flashing type. Motion by Mr. Hilton, seconded by Mr. Hines, that the Chairman be authorized to prepare the Final Report and Recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Commission, including the above mentioned recommendations.
