Home My WebLink About06131968 ZPC Minutes~~ ZONING AND PLANNIlVG COMMISSION REGULAR MEETIlVG JUNE 13, 1968 Cfl °'~ U V ~~ The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place convened in regular session at the City Hall on Thursday, June l3, 1968, 7:30 p.m., with the following members prsent: Chairman Hannah, presiding; Members Bricker, Hilton and Hines. Chairman Hannah asked the Commission whether they had had an opportunity to review the letters received from various property owners in connection with the rezoning of Lot 2, Block 1, and Lots 2, Block 35, Colonial Terrace Addition, and Lots 1, 2,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, Fairhaven Addition. All members oresent stated they had reviewed the letters. There was discussion concerning the possibility of rezoning the property for professional office buildings. There was also discussion concerning parking facilities. It was the general concensus that such facilities should be per- mitted, structly for the convenience of developments located within the City of West University Place (such as the telephone company, should they desire a parking lot for employees)) It was decided that this would be desirable to in- clude in the final recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Commission,. if it could be done by legal wording.. There was discussion .concerning the possibility of owners converting existing residences into professional office buildings, as .well as concerning a defini- tion of a "professional office building". The Commission decided that the main points which would need consideration prior to filing of the final report, would be: (l) height of buildings; (2) setbacks from property lines; (3) parking as mentioned above. There was a question con- cerning whether a single-family residence could still be constructed within the existing set-back requirements, if setbacks were changed for office building construction. After further discussion, the Commission decided to recess 7:30 p.m., June 20th, at which time they would give addit' height of buildings, set-back requirements, etc. Upon m and carried, the meeting was .recessed. ~ Attest: ~-.
